Evolution of online campaigning: Increasing interactivity in candidate web sites and blogs through text and technical features

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine electronic campaign tools through gauging the level of interactivity offered and analyze the web pages and blogs of the Democratic candidates during the 2004 presidential election. The results showed that the tactical use of advanced web site features showed a technological progression of political campaigning and an overall increase in interactivity through technology and text.

Honey, I shrunk the world! The relation between Internet use and international engagement

Article Abstract:

A study to examine how the Internet facilitates a sense of connection to the international community at the individual level is presented. The Internet connects individuals to the international community by helping them increase their knowledge of the world, facilitating their sense of belonging to the greater world and motivating them to participate in international events and foreign volunteer opportunities.

Mapping ethical arguments in journalism: an exploratory study

Article Abstract:

The potential of a cognitive mapping variant called argument mapping for representing the process of ethical argumentation in the peer discourse of journalists is explored. An extended example is provided to illustrate argument mapping's usefulness and limitations for this purpose.
