Forensic impact of the child sexual abuse medical examination
Article Abstract:
The research on the forensic factor of the child sexual abuse medical examination are categorized in two broad headings, namely, medical history and expert testimony. The three important issues taken from the medical history are accuracy of information, proper presentation and preservation of verbal evidence of abuse and interview concerns during history taking. Admission of hearsay statements in court are allowed when aiming to obtain diagnostic or treatment services. Three requirements are met in the medical diagnosis or treatment exception.

Impact of child sexual abuse medical examinations on the dependency and criminal systems
Article Abstract:
Research on the sociolegal impact of medical examinations are important in the judicial process of child sexual abuse cases although medical evaluations are primarily done to determine the general health and well being of the abused child and the diagnosis and prevention of sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy. The findings from the medical evaluations are then secondarily used for prosecution purposes and child protection. The abused child is the key witness to the offense and his testimony is supported by the medical evidence.

Article Abstract:
A panel discussion concerning the research on legal impact and criminal provisions of child sexual abuse medical examinations is presented. The manner by which the judge views the expert testimonies of medical people is important in the administration of the criminal justice system. Presentation of medical evidence derived from the examinations are significant facets in the execution of the judicial process even though the process limits mental health services for children.
