Fruitvale Farmers Market

Article Abstract:

Farmers in the Oakland, California area sell fresh produce one day a week, on Sundays, in a bustling open-air bazaar that has become a weekly event in Fruitvale, giving residents a way stocking up on fruits and vegetables for the week, spending time with neighbors, and discovering new foods. Markets like the Fruitvale Farmers Market have advantages as part of an economic development program and are a means of providing high-quality, nutritious food to people whose choices would otherwise be far more limited.
