The weight of tradition, the springboard of tradition: let's move beyond the 1990s'

Article Abstract:

The epistemological and methodological approaches are used in the urban geography literature of the 1990s in which the weight of tradition is evident. The three strands of path divergence that has emerged in the 1990s from these traditions are the research on globalization, gender and a greater diversity of methodological approaches and data sources.

Article Abstract:

The insufficiency of quantitative data and the lack of appreciation for qualitative techniques in academic and policy circles are discussed. A lack of quantitative data involves lack of recognition during decision-making and policy formation.
