Globalization and international tourism in developing countries: Marginality as a commercial commodity

Article Abstract:

The relation between globalization, international tourism and marginality in developing countries and its affect on the people of the developing countries is examined. Findings indicate that globalization and marginality could be linked in many different ways and there exists a link between marginal population that consists of legal and illegal foreign workers and socioeconomic processes of globalization.

The multiple actors who form the Globalization movement and who constitute different branches of an action intended to engage critically with, and propose alternatives to, current forms of social organization are discussed. The features characterizing this movement and the questions raised by these features are further listed.
