Increasing revenues through AHPs

Article Abstract:

Local housing authorities can use Affordable Housing Programs to build mixed income communities that are self-sustaining. Affordable Housing Programs provide low-income housing for those who need it but does not segregate them to public housing projects. Steps for building an Affordable Housing Program are discussed.

Making sure housing credits work

Article Abstract:

The federal government allows states to administer the Low Income Housing Tax Credit but has set strict rules that states must follow to award the credits. Local housing officials need to follow the rules carefully when contracting with a developer to insure that both the agency and the developer get the credit.

Help for residents during welfare reform

Article Abstract:

Neighborhood Networks is a new program set up to create community centers in public housing developments where residents can learn computer skills and build community relations. The center is also used for child care, job training, transportation coordination and health care services.
