Marital violence: impact on children's emotional experiences, emotional regulation and behaviors in a post-divorce/separation situation

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between children's exposure to family violence and the development of emotional or behavioral problems following parental separation. Findings indicate that exposure to domestic violence is associated with increased internalizing problems, negative emotions like sadness or anger, and behavioral problems in children.
