Mobilising the commodity chain concept in the politics of food and farming

Article Abstract:

A study analyzing the term 'commodity chains' widespread and variable usage in both academic and policy-orientated work is illustrated with case studies from the UK Government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Countryside Agency and Sustain. It concludes that the different mobilizations of the concept of these agencies provide valuable insights into the politics of food and farming in contemporary Britain.
