By 2010 top-tier processors should be stuffed with a billion transistors and running at more than 20 gigahertz, making a major breakthrough at the semiconductor manufacturing level. The semiconductor Industry Association, the American Electronics Association and other electronics trade groups should band together to make this endeavor a success.

The big tease: investors are touting nanotech as the new biotech. Don't believe them

Nanotech is one of the most watched Silicon Valley IPOs and a handful of Venture Capitalist's have invested in it. Nanosys had a net loss of $17 million in 2003 since its founding in 2001 even though it had some big time investors and collaborators, hence, IPO buyers have been told to beware.
