My role in the assessment program of the Office of Strategic Services

Article Abstract:

The Office of Strategic Services was established in 1940 to fill the need for a modern intelligence organization such as those of European nations. Headed by Gen. William Donovan, the agency launched a program to conduct psychological evaluation of its intelligence officers. The assessment program was comprised of physical, intellectual and field tests as well as two-hour interviews with psychologists and psychoanalysts, all designed to determine whether a candidate can be an effective intelligence agent. These assessments were validated by a member of the assessment team, who went to the battlefront for a rating of these personnel by their officers and peers.

Flexible planning and flexible buildings: reusing redundant office space

Article Abstract:

United Kingdom witnesses an excess of office space in comparison with the availability of housing space. In order to make the housing facilities accessible, the government has introduced measures that aim to convert abandoned office buildings into residential buildings. The plans have been appreciated by environmentalists who promote ecological sustainability. However, due to the decrepit status of the office buildings, it is unlikely that the measures are useful for the public.
