Pablo Escobar, drug baron: his surrender, imprisonment, and escape

Article Abstract:

A study reveals in detail the rise and fall of the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, based on various interviews. The true story of the Medellin drug cartels remains mostly suppressed, as official intimidation blocks channels of communication between the common people and the foreign journalists. Misconception about the Colombian drug problem prevails, owing to a complex interplay of socioeconomic and political factors and the overenthusiasm of US law enforcement agencies, which often overstep legal limits.
