Ode to Mulan: seeing the animated film 'Mulan'

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney Co.'s 'Mulan' is the first animated production to use historical characters well-known to Chinese, yet its makers are ignorant of Chinese history and character. Although the film is visually interesting and occasionally clever, the characters do not have normal appearances or exhibit appropriate Chinese behavior.
