Postscript to an anthology of reviews

An anthology of 60 reviews on behavior analysis, appearing in 'Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior,' over a period of 30 years is presented. 'Modern Perspectives on John B. Watson and Classical Behaviorism,' covers the antecedents of behavior analysis. D. W. Bjork's biography of B. F. Skinner outlines the origins of behavior analysis. Reviews of articles covering varied accounts of contemporary perspectives are provided. J. Weiner's 'The Beak of the Finch,' covers the common concerns of biology and behavior analysis. Pigeons' preference for free choice: numbers of keys versus key area

Article Abstract:

Concurrent-chains schedules research using two keys correlated with reinforces shows that pigeons exercise free-choice in relation to key number and key area. The free-choice decisions were apparently made as a joint function rather than through independent processes. Response rates for initial and terminal links are given.
