Predicting and scaling hens' preferences for topographically different responses

Article Abstract:

Analysis of the study conducted on six Shaver Starcross 12 month old hens, maintained at 80% of their free-feeding weights, reveals that topographically different responses activated general matching preferences of the hens. The results indicate the notion that door push operationally is effective for conducting research on domestic hens.

The transitivity of choices between different response requirements

Article Abstract:

Research with hens' choices between response requirements showed response requirements exist on a unitary scale of value. Preferences about response-based measures implied an underlying interval value scale, while time-based measures showed moderate transitivity.

Contingency discriminability, matching, and bias in the concurrent-schedule responding of possums (Trichosurus vulpecula)

Article Abstract:

Studies have found that behavior on the concurrent schedules are biased by the type of feed. Both the contingency discriminability model and the matching law used in the study gave equal measures of biases but on different parameters.
