Preventing child abuse: A meta-analysis of parent training programs

Article Abstract:

A meta-analysis of 23 studies was conducted to evaluate the ability of parent-training programs to reduce parents' risk of abusing a child. The results of the study explain the conditions under which parent training can be most effective in reducing the risk of future abuse or neglect and provide general support for parent training with this population.

Prevention of child abuse and neglect: An evaluation of a home visitation Parent Aide Program using recidivism data

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine the secondary and tertiary prevention of child abuse and neglect through an evaluation of the Parent Aide Program at the Child Abuse Prevention Center in Dallas, Texas. A home visitation Parent Aide Program could be effective in reducing the risk for child abuse and neglect at the secondary and tertiary level.

A meta-analysis of father involvement in parent training

Article Abstract:

A study using meta-analysis to examine the benefits of including fathers in parent training and the impact of it if any on both parents is presented. Results conclude that fathers should be included in parent training due to the positive results on children as well as for themselves.
