Responding to gender violence in Albania: a partnership effort

Article Abstract:

The authors discuss patterns of gender violence in Albania, and the unique history and social norms of Albania that complicate social workers' attempts to address such violence. Albanians generally remain silent regarding matters of violence against women. Coalitions are being developed between social workers, attorneys, community leaders and organizations to address this silence and to develop informational and advocacy programs, centers for women, and legal and social change.
