Response to psychiatrically impaired inmates to activity therapy

Article Abstract:

The results of activity therapy programs with psychiatrically impaired inmates in a high security prison are discussed. The author, maintaining activity therapy is intended to engage the mind and body with the intention of promoting self-esteem, cooperative interaction, and prevent withdrawal, concludes the inmates found the programs enjoyable and beneficial.

Police response to domestic violence

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that mandatory arrest policies for incidents of domestic violence do not always achieve positive results. It is posited that law enforcement agencies and social welfare agencies should work together to create integrated interventions that may be more effective in deterring violence.

Measuring domestic violence: an assessment of frequently used tools

Article Abstract:

Evaluations have revealed that selection criteria have a significant impact on the effectiveness of psychometric tools used to measure domestic violence. These criteria include analysis of the theoretical foundation the tool is based on, along with levels of reliability, validity, and practicality.
