Reversibility of single-incentive selective associations

Article Abstract:

Two experiments were conducted to determine the behavioral responses of two groups of rats to auditory and visual stimuli. When the two stimuli were introduced separately, one group responded to the visual stimulus and the other group responded to the auditory stimulus. The rats' responses were assessed by a system in which a positive response attracted appreciation and a negative response punishment. A compound auditory and visual stimulus proved effective in analyzing the impact of auditory and visual controls.

Stimulus control of cocaine self-administration

Article Abstract:

Aspect of human drug-abuse is analyzed by investigating the stimulus control of drug self-administration in laboratory animals. Stimulus control of cocaine self-administration was generated using multiple and chained schedules with short frequently-altering components.

Effects of compounding drug-related stimuli: Escalation of heroin self-administration

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that drug-related stimuli can increase the motivation to acquire and abuse drugs. Results are based on studies of heroin self-administration in rats.
