Shrines of Yue Fei: Spaces for creation of public memory

Article Abstract:

Shrine to Yue Fei, a famous man-made scenic spot is erected on the side of West Lake near the southern foot of Qixia Mountain to commemorate Yue Fei whose grave is located within the shrine. Shrine of Yue Fei allows to see that during the last 800 years the changes which are manifest there reveal the creation of public memory regarding Yue Fei during different eras, and this process of creation was intended to infuse the national ideology of Yue Fei's spirit of unwavering loyalty to the nation.

Follow-up research on the Potters' investigation of Chashan, South China

Article Abstract:

The investigation by Sulamith H. Potter and Jack M. Potter of Chashan town of Dongguan city of Guangdong is presented which focused on the Zengbu area of Chashan. It is found that Chashan faced serious challenges due to impace of the economic environment at home and abroad after 1995 but the former Chashan General Clothing and Toy Factory gradually developed and expanded in the 1980s due to its reputation of good cooperation with overseas businessman.

Social transition and positive adjustments in the state enterprise-worker relationship

Article Abstract:

The changes in worker participation at a state-owned enterprise are reported and are compared with worker participation at a family business. Thus, a family enterprise turning in the direction of capitalist society gives rise to a change in the relation between the state, the enterprise, the worker, and the trade union that is oriented toward society and is opposed to the 'danwei' system.
