Social problems of the development of Kalmykia

Article Abstract:

A sociological study conducted in 2002 provides data for analysis of the ongoing processes in the social and economic development of the population of Kalmykia that are related to social stratification in the republic. Results reveal that the majority of the population is affected severely in terms of social and economic conditions prevalent in the republic, with people of preretirement age the most affected, which leads to potential migration, and any social conflicts are only due to the socioeconomic inequalities.

Social problems of the development of the Republic of Adygea

Article Abstract:

A survey undertaken in 2004 analyzes social indicators that reflect the conditions in the Republic of Adygea, an entity of the Russian Federation. Results reveal that unemployment is a significant problem in the republic and social and economic inequality among people is increasing leading to polarization, resulting in a sense of dissatisfaction among the poor while some benefit from the restructured economy.

On the prospects for maintaining, developing, and improving the use of Russia's labor potential

Article Abstract:

The problem of employment is taking on a new, special meaning both in Russia and all over the world. Expanding workers and labor rights on the basis of the new labor code should speed up solutions to Russia's economic and social problems.
