The effects of strategic news on political cynicism, issue evaluations, and policy support: a two-wave experiment

Article Abstract:

The effect of strategic television news frame in relation to a policy discussion of a routine political issue in a nonelectoral context is investigated using a two-wave experimental design to test the longevity of effects. Studies suggest that exposure to strategic news fuelled political cynicism and activated negative evaluations of a policy issue.r

Character motivations in the representation of mental health professionals in popular film

Article Abstract:

The article describes a narrative approach to studying media, focusing on the motivations of 58 mental health professional characters represented in popular films between 1990 and 1999. The distortions and of cinematic depictions of such characters are explored.
