The impact of HIV/AIDs on Kenyan rural women and the role of counseling

Article Abstract:

A research is done using a grounded theory approach to describe the experiences of women in Kenyan areas infected with HIV/AIDs. It is shown that while one of most important factor that contribute t the negative experiences of the Kenyan women is poverty, the prevalent cultural practices and traditions are still a major obstacle to their development.

Characteristics and personal social networks of the on-the-street, of-the-street, shelter and school children in Eldoret, Kenya

Article Abstract:

The structure of the social networks of the on-the-street children, of-the-street, shelter and school children is studied in Eldoret, Kenya is discussed. It is observed that on-the-street children have a higher percentage of family sector networks than the of-the-street children and the shelter or institutionalized children.
