The use of propensity scores as a matching strategy

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to compare the propensity scores of two randomly selected groups of Canadian children aged 9 to 15 years from two different strata of society both of which displayed abnormal behaviors. Results revealed that not much variation was found between the two groups and using propensity scores have the benefit of cost effectiveness for research purposes.

How people cope with uncertainty due to chance or deception

Article Abstract:

The ability of human beings to cope with chance and deception that lead to different types of uncertainty is investigated. Based on the probability-matching paradigm the test conducted revealed that individuals who believed deception to be the cause of uncertainty adopted the optimal rule-based strategy far less than those who attributed the uncertainty to chance.

Individual differences in adaption to social change

Article Abstract:

Under socialism, Poles learned not to be choosy and accept a wide range of options. However, with the passing of socialism this action style has to be replaced as it is no longer rewarding and contributes to dissatisfaction and unproductive life.
