Traditions and innovations in the labor culture of blue-collar employees of private enterprises in post-Soviet Russia

Article Abstract:

The dual oppositions of Soviet and post-Soviet approaches were focused as it applies to an analysis of sociocultural processes in enterprises for an empirical study of their interaction in the labor culture in post-Soviet Russia. It is observed that the innovation in worker's labor culture that have become salient suggest the possibility that they would turn into traditions include the fear of losing one's job, the continuing decline in the value of free time, and the rising importance of the value of health, as well as the presence of solid prerequisites for the formation of orientations of partnership on the part of a portion of workers.

Social networks and behavior in the labor market

Article Abstract:

The findings of a longitudinal study entitled 'Gender Strategies in the Labor Market' which was conducted out in four cities of Russia in 1999 to 2001 to study the way network resources influence the professional and personal strategies of men and women are presented. Network represent a value that is just about universal, making it possible to exchange both particular material resources and information, especially information about job vacancies and potential job options.

Fairness in wages and salaries as a value orientation and a factor of motivation to work

Article Abstract:

Salaries paid to industrial workers in villages of Russia are very less and in general income of these people in villages is meager which has made them socially insecure, placing them at the bottom of the social structure. It is suggested that fairness in regard to wages and salaries might motivate people to work and their satisfaction with their wages can be utilized to develop a corporate culture to shape Russian industry.
