United States-Indian defense cooperation

Article Abstract:

A study on US-Indian defense cooperation is presented. Defense relations between the two countries have been minimal during the Cold War era. In the 1980s, however, US-Indian defense relations have improved, as evident in the increasednumber of technology transfers and agreements. Furthermore, substantial improvements in defense cooperation have been noted following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Despite the positive changes in US-Indian defense cooperationthrough the years, contrasting state policies and other such obstacles remain that may impede the future of US-Indian defense cooperation.
