The Shipwreck Certificate Program profiles 18 of Bermuda's 35 most popular and historic shipwrecks. The 18 shipwrecks include Madiana, Taunton, Iristo, Minnie Breslauer, Pelinaion, Hermes, Darlington, Cristobol Colon, among others. The certificate is awarded after completion of a dive.

The Montana: Bermuda's Confederate blockade runner

Article Abstract:

The Montana is a 236-ft long, 25-ft beam tramp steamer that lies in 30 ft of water in Bermuda. The shipwreck was a Confederate blockade runner that sank in 1863. The Montana's bow is encrusted with coral and her midship region is a favorite site among underwater photographers.

The Iristo: Bermuda's wayward steamer wreck

Article Abstract:

The ship Iristo was a transport vessel of flour and gasoline between Bermuda and Nova Scotia until it sank on Mar 16, 1937. Now, Iristo is a member of the Bermuda Shipwreck Certificate program and is considered today as a fun and photogenic wreck dive.
