The Netherlands Antilles' second biggest island, Bonaire, enjoys a steady year-long summer climate and has about 26 miles of reef fronting coastline. Bonaire's reefs thrive with giant Purple Tube sponges, Orange Elephant Ear Sponges and large, thick growths of Devil's Seawhips.

Aruba is a veritable paradise for skin diving enthusiasts. Its most popular wreck is the 400-ft German freighter Antilla which sank there during World War II. After 59 years, the wreck is now covered with small corals, hydroids, sponges and colonies of tunicates.
