Nassau Grouper: unofficial mayor of the reef

Article Abstract:

The Nassau Grouper (Epinephelus striatus) is a friendly fish that inhabits shallow coral reefs. It has distinctive brown bands that run vertically on the body and horizontally on the head. It also has the uncanny ability to change color and blend with its surroundings from pale white to very black.

The great white grouper: the Potato Cod is a kingsized member of the Seabass family

Article Abstract:

The Potato Cod is found in areas spanning the whole Indian Ocean. Almost considered to be extinct, the Potato Cod has generated great interest among divers because of its unusual behavior. This kingsized grouper acquired its name because of the potato-sized black blotches on its body.

Grand Cayman's stingray phenomenon: 100 tame rays and multiplying

Article Abstract:

Stingrays around the waters of Grand Cayman have increased and become friendly. The sudden changes in the behavior of stingrays from shy and dangerous to playful can be attributed to the divers that feed them.
