Persons with atherosclerosis should postpone their scuba diving activities until risk factors related to this ailment are reduced. The best way to avoid this disease is committing to a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, several medications can be taken to lower blood cholesterol.

Diving with back problems

Article Abstract:

People with back or spine problems that are made tolerable with anti-inflammatory medications and exercise may engage in scuba diving. Using weights distributed around the ankles, arms or waist may also help in relieving back pain when diving.
