Santa Monica's Long Wharf: Southern California's largest pier is gone - but not forgotten

Santa Monica Bay's Long Wharf was built in 1892 and stretched for about a mile from the mouth of Potrero Canyon. It was dismantled in 1920, and its submerged pilings and sunken artifacts offer opportunities to divers as well as souvenir-seekers.
