Small-arms trafficking threaten the stability of northern Mali

Article Abstract:

Northern Mali is risking destabilization due to significant small arms trafficking in the region. The local demand for small-arms is driven by feelings of insecurity, the pressure of bandit gangs and the activities of militant groups such as the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (Groupe Salafiste pour la Prediction et le Combat (GSPC).
