A community-based group exercise program for persons with chronic stroke

Article Abstract:

Research reveals that improvement and retention of mobility, functional capacity, and balance are observed in chronic stroke persons engaged in a short-term community-based exercise program. Data indicate that such programs can improve activity tolerance and reduce risk for secondary complications from stroke.

Mechanical and metabolic responses with exercise and dietary carbohydrate manipulation

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the effects of altered muscle glycogen concentration on the mechanical and metabolic responses to extended exercise routine. It was found that a 7-day exercise-dietary routine leads to both an increase in muscle glycogen and improved energy homeostasis during exercise.
