Seamanship: Bring 'em back alive

Article Abstract:

A debate over the practical solutions and techniques for the bluewater sailor has arisen after an experienced crewmember was launched overboard and died before a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew found him some three hours later. For most recreational sailors, the Quickstop maneuver works well for the simple reason that it keeps the boat close to the MOB.
