A quantitative analysis and qualitative explanation of the individual differences in affective responses to prescribed and self-selected exercise intensities

Article Abstract:

A mixed method approach that was used to explore affective responses to exercise at intensities below-lactate threshold (LT) and above-LT to test the proposals of the dual-mode model was discussed. It was seen that perceptions of ability, interpretation of exercise intensity, exercise outcomes, focus of concentration and perceptions of control affected the affective response.

Effects of moderate exercise and circadian rhythms on human memory

Article Abstract:

The effects of exercise and circadian rhythms on memory function are explored in a group of shift workers. The results reveal that appropriately timed, short and moderate periods of exercise can bring about short-term improvements in memory function and significantly reduce the effects of daytime circadian rhythms on memory performance.

Predicting physical exercise in cardiac rehabilitation: The role of phase-specific self-efficacy beliefs

Article Abstract:

A study conducted distinguishes between task self-efficacy, maintenance self-efficacy, and recovery self-efficacy. The three phase-specific self-efficacies revealed sufficient discriminant validity and allowed for differential predictions of intentions and behavior.
