Arthur Ashe wrote several books about tennis techniques and was working on a tennis-lessons project at the time of his death in Feb 1993. Ashe's advice included concern for errors in return serves, competing with zone players and techniques for winning against aggressive types.

The backhand

There are many different ways to handle a tennis racket for a backhand stroke. However, the best styles may be the Eastern backhand for one-handers and the Continental-Eastern forehand combination for two-handers.

Protecting your Achilles tendon

Stretching the Achilles tendon before and after a tennis game is important to protect it from injury. Adding heel pads or custom orthotics to tennis shoes can also protect it.
