AAEP to hold Unwanted Horse Summit: Associations hope to initiate plan to reduce numbers of slaughtered horses

Article Abstract:

The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) will be hosting a one-day Unwanted Horse Summit on April 19, 2005, at the Capitol Hill Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C. The are planning to address the United State's increasing problem of unwanted horses in an attempt to reduce the number of horses slaughtered each year in the U.S. and Canada.

Three women who were diagnosed and treated for breast cancer discusses about their goals, the challenges they faced and their love for the horses. They have faced cancer with courage, humor, and a determination and provide advice to the other riders who are facing the problem of breast cancer.

Discovery Trail on hold

Details about the American Discovery Trail that opened in June 2000 are presented with focus on the federal legislation that it lacks. The trail, which covers 6,000 miles from Delaware to California, is considered unique for its access to the countless historic, cultural and scenic landmarks.
