Age and gender effects in physical self-concepts for adolescent elite athletes and nonathletes: a multicohort-multioccasion design

Article Abstract:

Differences in physical self-concepts were researched using adolescent elite athletes and nonathletes as subjects. A multicohort-multioccasion design showed that self-concept differences were highest between athletes and nonathletes, between males and females, and between gender and group interactions, respectively. Age did not appear to have a significant impact in physical self-conceptualization.
