Autumn awakening: in the end, it was the squirrels that brought old memories to life

A son describes a squirrel-hunting trip with his father. The father was recovering from an operation and had difficulty moving. Finally, they sat on a bank and the father tried some long-remembered squirrel calls. The squirrels came, and the father seemed happy for the first time that day.
