Ballou honeycomb

Article Abstract:

Cyclist Mike Ballou developed an innovative bicycle that features tubes containing a fiberglass honeycomb material used in Stealth bombers that provides rigidity and weightlessness. Use of the honeycomb composite eliminates need for heavier, conventional titanium frames.

Royce Heuted invented his unique bicycle with multispeed drivetrain before 1982 and has been trying to establish a market through his company, Yankee Bicycles. The bicycle eliminates gear slippage, fits riders up to six-and-a-half feet, and sells for $369 plus shipping.

Design of the Fisher Tassajara provides a bicycle of quality for short women at a reasonable price. Its scaled-down frame proportions give a comfortable ride. Heavy parts can be exchanged for lighter ones to reduce the weight of the bicycle.
