Comparison of two physical activity questionnaires in obese subjects: The NUGENOB study

Article Abstract:

A multicenter European obesity project tested whether physical activity (PA) assessments by two questionnaires that were correlated and similarly associated to selected obesity-related variables. Total PA assessments by the two questionnaires were found to correlate significantly and the general pattern of associations of PA with general obesity was familiar for the two questionnaires.

Physical activity and mortality across cardiovascular disease risk groups

Article Abstract:

The impact of a sedentary lifestyle on mortality by cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk group in a national sample of U.S. adults who represent a wide range of activity levels, health conditions, and socioeconomic groups is discussed. The results stated that a sedentary lifestyle is associated with a high risk of death in preretirement -aged U.S. adults.

Self-administered questionnaire compared with interview to assess past-year physical activity

Article Abstract:

This study compares differences in data collected using the self-report and interview-administered formats of the Modifiable Activity Questionnaire, a measure of physical activity. Results indicate that the mode of questionnaire administration does not effect the assessment of past-year physical and leisure activity.
