Dietary supplement use by varsity athletes at a Canadian university

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to assess reasons for the prevalence of supplement use among varsity athletes and nonvarsity athlete students at a Canadian university. A questionnaire distributed to 247 varsity athletes and 204 controls, included variables regarding sports participation, supplements used, reasons for usage, perceived effects, and areas of interest about supplements.

The impact of prior coffee consumption on the subsequent ergogenic effect of anhydrous caffeine

Article Abstract:

The study examined whether the prior consumption of coffee (COF) decreased the ergogenic effect of the subsequent ingestion of anhydrous caffeine. Study concluded that the prior consumption of COF did not decrease the ergogenic effect of the subsequent ingestion of anhydrous CAF.

Carbohydrate and carbohydrate+protein for cycling time-trial performance

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine whether intake of a carbohydrate+protein beverage improves cycling time-trial performance in comparison to carbohydrate ingestion alone. Results suggest that the carbohydrate+protein beverage does not improve performance.
