Differential predictors of adherence in exercise programs with moderate versus higher levels of intensity and frequency

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine whether specific participant characteristics differentially predicted adherence to exercise programs of moderate versus higher levels of intensity and frequency. A major conclusion was that participants with higher levels of past exercise showed better adherence to higher intensity exercise but tended to have poorer adherence to moderate intensity exercise.

Race ethnicity, and sexual orientation: still a void in sport and exercise psychology?

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to determine how race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation have been addressed in the recent sport and exercise psychology literature. The results state that despite an increase in the number of papers that include references to race and ethnicity, there has been no systematic attempt to include the experience of marginalized groups in the literature.

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the demographic, medical and social cognitive correlates of exercise intentions in non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) survivors using the theory of planned behavior (TPB). It showed that TPB provides a good framework on which to base interventions designed to increase exercise intentions in NHL survivors.
