Dog psychology 101

Article Abstract:

Hunting dogs will learn to come when called more quickly if the training begins at seven or eight weeks rather than at eight months. The dog should be rewarded with a treat and praised for obeying calls. Gradually reducing the treats and replacing them with water are the next steps.

Superior deer recovery

Advice is presented for the training of dogs for blood-trailing in deer hunting. This should only be conducted with the dog on a leash in order to retain control, maintain the safety of the dog and demonstrate consideration of other deer hunters.
