Effect of potassium phosphate supplementation on perceptual and physiologic responses to maximal graded exercise

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of oral potassium phosphate supplements on perceived exertion and physiological indicators in trained runners during graded treadmill tests. Findings indicate that there were no significant physiological differences between groups, but subjects who took oral supplements reported lower levels of perceived exertion than control subjects.

The efficacy of carbohydrate supplementation and chronic high-carbohydrate diets for improving endurance performance

Article Abstract:

Available data suggest that a high carbohydrate (CHO) diet is the best nutritional recommendation for endurance training. Although studies on the practicality of a chronic high-CHO diet are inconclusive, evidence in research literature supports the beneficial effects of CHO ingestion on endurance performance, as its rate of metabolism during exercise is pronounced.

The effects of choline supplementation on physical performance

Article Abstract:

This study investigates the relationship between choline supplementation and subsequent performance on a four-hour strenuous exercise task. Results indicate that choline supplementation increased plasma choline levels, but did not result in significant differences in physical performance or endurance.
