The effect of three different warm-up intensities on kayak ergometer performance

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of various warm-up intensities on the physiological response and athletic performance of elite kayakers during an exercise test. Findings indicate that although there were no differences in oxygen consumption between groups, fifteen-minute warm-ups at anaerobic threshold resulted in increased metabolic acidemia and impaired athletic performance.

Effects of high- and moderate-intensity training on metabolism and repeated sprints

Article Abstract:

The effects of high-intensity interval training (HIT) versus moderate-intensity continuous training (MIT) that is matched for total work (kg) on muscle metabolism and performance during repeated-sprint exercise is discussed. It is found when total work is matched HIT results in greater improvements in repeated-sprint ability than MIT.

Effects of caffeine on prolonged intermittent-sprint ability in team-sport athletes

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the effects of acute caffeine ingestion on prolonged intermittent-sprint performance. It revealed that acute caffeine ingestion could enhance the performance of prolonged intermittent-sprint ability in competitive, male, team-sport athletes.
