Elk all over: in one of North America's greatest stories, elk are rapidly approaching the 1 million mark

Elks were driven to near extinction in the early part of the 1900's in the US by hunters eager for their teeth. A program dedicated to protecting these animals began by re-introducing them to North America. The elk population has since been thriving and their comeback is noted.

Jack O'Conner's last hunt

Winter's wildest hunt

Snowshoes are small hares found in North America which are best hunted in the winter, although this can be difficult. The techniques and equipment for hunting this game animal are described.
