Energy and nutrient status of amenorrheic athletes participating in a diet and exercise training intervention program

Article Abstract:

Studies show that the primary causes of amenorrhea in female athletes are restricted energy intake and poor nutritional choices. Training intervention programs that focus on diet and exercise should therefore include a sport nutrition supplement to boost micro- and macronutrient and protein intakes. This can help reverse amenorrhea in female athletes.
