Exercise and cognitive performance in chronic fatigue syndrome

Article Abstract:

The effect of submaximal steady-state exercise on cognitive performance in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) alone, CFS with comorbid fibromyalgia (FM), and sedentary healthy controls are determined. CFS patients without comorbid FM exhibit subtle cognitive deficits in terms of speed, consistency, and efficiency that are not improved or exacerbated by light exercise.

Perceived exertion in fatiguing illness: civilians with chronic fatigue syndrome

Article Abstract:

Results indicae that in terms of absolute exercise intensity, ratings of perceived exertion are higher in civilians with chronic faigue syndrome. However, there are no differences when ratings of perceived exertion is compared to oxygen consumpion rates.

Perceived exertion in fatiguing illness: Gulf war veterans with chronic fatigue syndrome

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that ratings of perceived exerion are higher in Gulf veterans with chronic fatigue syndrome both by absolute or relative exercise intensity, indicating that Gulf veterans differ from their civilian counterparts.
