Fasteners: The lowdown on nuts and bolts

Article Abstract:

There are two main types of fasteners used on a boat, the machine screws or bolts, which are distinguished by parellel, machine-screw threads that mate with a 'nut' or threaded hole and tapping screws. Machine screws, nuts, and bolts do their jobs by applying clamping force to the joined parts.
