Fishing the no-motor zones

Article Abstract:

A canoe can be an ideal fishing boat in waters where motors are not allowed or the water is not deep enough. A man describes saltwater fishing at the Everglades National Park. He and an expert guide carried a canoe on top of a flat boat. Several tips for successful fishing are given.

Article Abstract:

Most standard fishing lures have colors that turn gray as they go deeper than 25-30 feet, but fluorescent lures retain their color in deeper water. Often the best way to obtain lures with bright fluorescent colors is to make the coloring of the lures a do-it-yourself project.

The trouble with trebles: treble hooks are deadly - in more ways than one

Article Abstract:

Barbed treble hooks can injure fishers and kill fish that are meant to be released. One way to make a treble hook safer is to replace it with a single hook. Another method involves replacing the hooks with larger trebles and then cutting two of the points off.
